Dragonflight Season 2 Dungeons and PvP Changes: Gear, Maps, Mounts, and More!
May 9, 2023, has become a Dragonflight Season 2 Release Date. It has brought changes to many game aspects. Roughly, they can be divided into PvE and PvP changes.

About Dragonflight Season 2 Dungeons
Probably, the biggest and most anticipated game change in this update regards Dragonflight Season 2 Mythic Dungeons. Blizzard has added 8 more of them this time. Interestingly, a new dungeon pack mixes new and old, reworked instances.

- Brackenhide Hollow;
- Halls of Infusion;
- Uldaman;
- Ferris.

And here are the older dungeons reworked according to the current patch:
- Freehold (Battle for Azeroth);
- The Underrot (Battle for Azeroth);
- Neltharion’s Lair (Legion);
- Vortex Pinnacle (Cataclysm).
Old-school players, get ready to catch some throwbacks here! You’ll have to remember how to complete these dungeons and share your knowledge with newer players. However, it won’t work with a Vortex Pinnacle. This dungeon came from the Cataclysm; it has never had a Mythic + mode. So you’ll face a good old instance sprinkled with new challenges.
On top of that, Dragonflight Season 2 Dungeons have received an affix rework. First, the game is now augmented with 3 new affixes:
- Incorporeal. This affix will spawn “incorporeal” mobs specified to reduce players’ damage and healing. To fight these sticky creatures, you must use your CC spells. Luckily, incorporeals are susceptible to all forms of crowd control;
- Afflicted. Afflicted souls will enter the battlefield. Each might have a poison, curse, or disease afflictions. Players must remove these afflictions or restore souls to full health. If they don’t, negative statuses will be transferred to them;
- Entangling. This affix will evoke vines, snaring players in combat. You can purge them.
All three are not seasonal affixes – they are general. So they won’t be removed with Season 3 advent.
Expanding the affixes changes topic, essential to say that Blizzard removes some of them from Season 2. These include Quaking, Grievous, and Explosive. Just a reminder: these affixes are retired for now. But they may still return in future seasons.
What Items Are in Dragonflight PvP Season 2?
Starting from Season 2 Dragonflight, all the PvE gear (besides Mythic drops) is upgradeable. There are different names for the items depending on the content you do. They start with Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, and Hero.
Each time you upgrade an item, it increases its stats and gets it to a higher level. There are 8 upgrade stages in total for each piece.
All the items are upgraded using Flightstones. This currency is earned for any in-game activity: world content, raids, dungeons, etc. Even though you can hold just 2000 Flightstones, you have no limit for earning them.
What’s more, to upgrade a higher ilvl gear, you must have crests. There are 4 of them, and each works for a specific item type. You can obtain them by completing mythic dungeons and killing certain bosses.
Conquest Gear in Dragonflight Season 2
Traditionally, we got some new Dragonflight Season 2 Tier Sets for PvP. Gear purchased for conquest points is the best. It has excellent PvP stats, the best you can get.
But conquest gear is not that easy to obtain. It requires you to participate in arenas or ranked battlegrounds. Both are challenging encounters for top PvP players.
In addition, they are time-gated. You can get only 500 conquest points per week. For instance, if you play a mage, you’ll need 3 weeks just to buy a staff. So that’s not only challenging but quite long too.

Dragonflight PvP Season 2 Rewards
Dragonflight Season 2 has introduced a few cool PvP mounts. The first is the Vicious War Snail. It has a similar look for Horde and Alliance. But their plates are slightly different in color.
If you achieve a gladiator rank, the game will reward you with a fantastic Obsidian Gladiator mount. It mimics an excellent old Winding Slither Drake skin, featuring rich golden shades. This skin is the same for both fractions.
